PLR Compressed Air Laboratory Stirrers are air-driven mixing units built for standard laboratory mixing tasks, including use in potentially explosive atmospheres where an electric motor would not be permitted.
How It Works
Instead of an electric motor, the stirrer uses a vane-type, air-driven motor powered by a compressed air supply, giving high power density in a unit that is significantly lighter and smaller than an equivalent electric motor. Because there is no electrical drive at the point of use, the stirrer is inherently suited to potentially explosive atmospheres. The motor runs in a fixed clockwise rotation and is sized for standard mixing tasks up to the rated capacity and fluid viscosity below.
