Overhead Stirrers are motor-driven mixing instruments that mount above a vessel and drive a stirrer shaft from the top, offering accurate torque indication, constant speed under changing loads, and a wide range of adjustable operation modes.
How It Works
The stirrer's electronic speed control keeps rotation constant even as sample viscosity changes during a reaction, while an integrated torque display gives a live readout of torque trend — a useful early indicator of viscosity change or an approaching reaction endpoint. Operation is set and monitored via a digital 3.2-inch colour display and a slide touch panel that allows safe, controlled start and stop of the motor. An automatic cut-out provides overheat protection, and temperature-control software continuously monitors the motor to prevent damage, while RS 232 and USB interfaces allow the stirrer to be connected to a PC or data-logging system.
