The Powder Flow Tester is a compact, bench-top instrument built for affordable powder characterisation, giving formulation and quality-control teams a small-footprint way to evaluate how a bulk powder will behave in handling, storage and processing.
How It Works
The tester offers a choice of test options depending on what needs to be characterised: a Flow Function test, a Time Consolidation Test combined with Flow Function, and a Wall Friction test against a chosen surface material. From these tests the instrument derives a set of standard powder-flow outputs, including the Flow Index, Arching Dimension, Rat-Hole Diameter, Hopper Half Angle, Gravity Chute (Wall Friction) Angle, and a Bulk Density Curve — data used to size hoppers, chutes and feed systems and to predict whether a powder will flow freely or bridge/rathole in storage.
