The Electronic Contact Thermometer uses a separate temperature probe connected to a display unit, keeping the main electronic body safely away from steam and other vapours while still delivering accurate contact temperature readings.
How It Works
A slim 3.5 mm diameter probe is inserted to a 250 mm immersion depth into the sample or process being measured, while the main body — housing the display and electronics — remains outside the hot or humid zone. This separation is safer than a traditional glass contact thermometer, removing the risk of the sensor breaking and, where mercury-filled thermometers are still in use, the associated mercury spillage hazard. Readings are shown on an 8 mm high LCD display, and the ABS plastic main body is rated for use across a wide ambient range.
