The Full Auto Comp cw Controls Automax E-Modulus is a fully automatic 2000 kN compression machine fitted with the "Automax E-Modulus" power-control system, built specifically to determine the static modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio of concrete cylinders under compression, in addition to standard compressive strength testing.
How It Works
The oversized 4-column high-stability frame and precision-lapped upper and lower platens keep the specimen concentrically and evenly loaded, which is essential for modulus-of-elasticity testing since eccentric loading distorts the strain readings. The Automax control system applies load through repeatable, programmed cycles rather than a single ramp to failure, which is the basis of the static modulus test procedure. To capture longitudinal and lateral strain during those load cycles, this type of test is run together with a compressometer-extensometer assembly. A compressometer-extensometer is not part of this machine’s listed standard supply, so add it to your enquiry if you need one. The same frame, run in a single ramp to failure without the modulus cycling, also functions as a standard 2000 kN compression testing machine.
