The Hollow Load Cell is a force-measuring transducer used for tension measurement in earth retaining structures and retaining wall anchor systems. Its hollow, through-bore design allows a tie rod, anchor bar or cable to pass directly through the cell body, enabling in-line load monitoring without disrupting the anchor assembly.
How It Works
The load cell is installed in line with the anchor rod or tie-back cable of a retaining wall or earth-retention system, so that tensile load passing through the anchor is transmitted through the cell body and converted into a measurable output. Because the cell is hollow, it can be threaded directly onto the anchor without needing to break the load path, making it well suited to geotechnical monitoring applications where a continuous, unobstructed tension member is required.
